MY JOURNEY WITH THE MAMOS OF SIERRA NEVADA OF SANTA MARTA

A message from Ginny Griego

 

I met the Mamos while I was living in Brazil doing Planetary work. Although I was born in Colombia very close to Sierra Nevada - their home - I never knew of the Mamos until I met them in the Inner Planes during my daily Spiritual Practice, which required to send healing energy to the Earth. 

One day the Mamos showed up to help me and since that day in the early 2000's we have been working together. This Journey has been one of deep learning and expansion of my Soul, especially my Heart.

Being around them has definitely made me a more loving person. I encountered them on my path because we had a similar mission to help the Planet as many people on Earth feel compelled to do now. 

I need to emphasize that in this partnership the one who has been blessed and graced with their Wisdom is me. I mostly help them with 3D matters such as translating for them when they come to the US. Part of my job is to help them with reforestation projects in the Sierra and act as their voice to control the illegal mining inside the reservation. In other words I am a liaison between them and the outside World.      

 

About the video: 

There are 3 Mamos in the video and a Wiwa leader who is the younger man in the video. He was there on behalf of the Kankuamo tribe as their representative because when they do Ceremony/Pagamento all the 4 tribes of the Sierra: Kogis, Wiwas, Arhuacos and Kankuamos must be present. 

Presently, the Kankuamo tribe which has been almost completely absorbed by Colombian society, doesn't have a Mamo. They are in the process of recovering their identity, language and traditional wisdom. 

The Mamos in the video are younger Mamos because the video was done when the Sierra was closed up by the government because of strict health protocols due to the virus. So the older Mamos were not allowed to leave the reservation. The Kogis, Wiwas and Arhuacos have a different immune system than us, Westerners. 

 

Words that need clarification: 

 

Pagamento: It is a Ceremony to connect with Nature and to honor both Mother Nature and Mother Earth. It is their way to pay back to Nature all what Nature has given us since the day we were born. It is  the way the Mamos honor and celebrate Mother Nature, the way the Mamos communicate with it. 

They do Paqamento by offering materials such as Tumas, and objects that Nature has given them: seashells, rocks, insects, resins etc. 

They do Pagamento by playing music and singing songs to the trees and the water. They do Pagamento by telling Sacred Stories. They do Pagamento by doing visualization exercises. They are in constant communication with Nature. They are here to nurture all the Kingdoms of Nature by listening to them in order to repair the damage that humans have caused to the Planet.

    

Tumas: are Pre Columbian pieces of quartz and semi-precious stones left by their Ancestors for them to continue doing Pagamento/Ceremony for Nature and the Earth. These Tumas are centuries old pieces of Quartz.

 

Kwina: They talked about Kwina as one of the forms they receive communication from the Water. Kwina is something that dowsers experience naturally, even before using a pendulum. Kwina are the physical sensations such as electric waves, chills, goose bumps, body temperature changes, and the involuntary movement of a body part that a person gets when connecting with Spirit. 

All of that is Kwina.

They also receive messages by Kashi which is a form of Kinesiology asking Yes/No questions using your fingers instead of a pendulum.

The Mamos divine or do a consultation, as they'd rather say, in the same fashion as Nostradamus used to do. They will divine with a bowl of water that has a water tuma (those are called Dzhirakwitshi) in it. This is also one of the forms they receive communication from the Water.

They will divine by looking into the water and getting in a trance-like state. They will get full visions, and they will check possible outcomes. This form of Divining is called Jatuqua.
